IBRO-APRC Associate School of Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation

Applications open for the IBRO-APRC Associate School of Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation

Organizer: Prof. Sudip Paul (North-Eastern Hill University)

Aims and Scope of the School:

This IBRO Associate School on Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation would create awareness among young researchers in the country to carry out research activities as well as career option in the future so that they could offer better solution(s) on different neurodegenerative disorders.

Description:

The North East region occupies special attention in the country for the promotion and growth of diverse disciplines, opportunities to carry out research activities in frontline areas such neuroscience and neurochemistry among the students, scientists and young faculties working in this field.  The region is in vicinity of Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan and other developing countries in Asia-Pacific region who require constant exposure, expertise and skills to improve their capabilities in fields of Neuroscience and Neurobiology which is the theme of this five days IBRO Associate School. This IBRO Associate School on Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation would create awareness among young researchers in the country to carry out research activities as well as career option in the future so that they could offer better solution(s) on different neurodegenerative disorders. The scope of neuroscience has grown in recent years and broadened to include different approaches used to study the molecular, developmental, structural, functional, evolutionary, computational and cognitive neuroscience, such as neural stimulation, imaging, brain mapping and systems biology approach to correlate with the medical aspects of the nervous system. The techniques used by neuroscientists have also expanded enormously from biophysical and molecular studies of individual nerve cells to imaging/ modelling, computational approach of perceptual and motor tasks in the brain.  Total 40 participants will be selected, 30 from India and 10 from Asia Pacific regions.

Who should apply to this School?

The target audience would be researchers’ in life sciences, engineers (M.Sc./M.Tech/Ph.D in related fields of biomedical engineering, computer engineering and electronics engineering), doctors working in the field of neuroscience/neurochemistry, young faculty members, neuroscientists and post docs below the age of 40 years working in the related fields as evident from research publications from Asia Pacific region only.

What costs will be covered for selected applicants?

Travel, meals and accommodation will be covered.

Application deadline: February 20, 2017 (11:59 p.m. CET)
