Prof. K. Debbarma

Department: Political Science

Dr. K. Debbarma has done his MA, M. Phil and Ph.D. from NEHU, Shillong. He has been teaching in the department since 1990.  His areas of research interest include Human Rights, Development Administration and Migration Politics in North East India. Presently he is teaching courses on Human Rights, Development Administration and Research Methodology. Apart from teaching, Dr.Debbarma worked as hostel warden for several years. He has authored books and several articles. Presented research papers and participated in many national and international seminars/workshops/conferences. Also, organized National and International Seminars/workshops/conferences. He has also coordinated few Refreshers Courses in Political Science funded by UGC through Human Resource Development Centre, NEHU. He has delivered lectures and keynote addresses in various Refresher Courses, seminars, etc. Besides, he is also involved in micro-finance society and takes part in sports activities such as badminton, football, etc.

M Phil & Ph D Supervision:

Under his supervision, 7 M Phil and 11 Ph D degrees have been awarded so far. 

Award

Received an award as an Ambassador for Peace in 2014, by Universal Peace Federation.

Research Projects

  1. Prof. B. J. Deb and Dr. K. Debbarma had a joint major project on Targeted PDS in Northeast India. Amount Received: The project was sponsored by the Ministry of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, New Delhi.
