Regional Training Programme on Plagiarism Detection Software URKUND


A “One-Day North-East Regional Training Programme for Administrators of Plagiarism Detection Software (PDS) URKUND” was held on 23rd August 2019 at the Multi-Use Convention Hall, NEHU Campus, Shillong from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The programme was jointly organized by Central Library, NEHU, Shillong and INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NEHU Sports Department organised a felicitation program on 7th June 2019 at the Committee Room, Administrative Building, NEHU Permanent Campus, Shillong for players and team officials who participated in the All India Kickboxing (Men & Women) and Wushu (Men) Championship in 2018-19. Eight-days Yoga Camp observed at Community Hall of the university campus


The North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong organized 8-days Yoga Camp from 26th May to 2nd June 2019 in the Community Hall of the NEHU campus from 6:30 to 8:00 AM. This camp was organized as a prelude to the forthcoming celebration of the International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019. The North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong took a pledge to keep the office and campus tobacco free on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day on May 31st, 2019. Prof. S.K. Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. H. Lamin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Mr. D. Chowdhury, Controller of Examinations along with staff of NEHU read out the pledge both in English and Hindi in the committee room, Administrative Block. Green Rescue Campaign started in the University


The Research Scholars' Forum NEHU on the 18th of May 2019 started the "Green Rescue Campaign" in collaboration with Botanic Club and Iris Club, where cleaning and plantation drive was held and in a first of its kind in the campus, the adoption of a tree was done. This was initiated so as to ensure that the tree/sapling that was planted will be taken care of by the adoptee. Anti littering signboards were also hung around the campus on that day.
