A 15-Day Professional Capacity Building Programme on Bamboo Craft, Design & Innovation was organised by DIC, NEHU, from 19 January to 5 February 2026, with a total of 8 participants. Mr. Biju Babu, Professional Practitioner, Travancore Art n Crafts, Wayanad, Kerala, served as a Resource Person for the programme.
The programme focused on strengthening participants’ practical skills in bamboo craft, product design, finishing techniques and innovative approaches to bamboo-based products. Through hands-on sessions and expert guidance, participants explored the development of functional, aesthetically appealing and value-added bamboo products, while gaining exposure to contemporary design practices and techniques for enhancing the quality and market potential of bamboo crafts.
