Inventor's Lab, organised by Turbit in collaboration with DIC, Shillong, was a hands-on creative learning workshop designed to introduce children aged 7-12 years to innovation, making, technology and artistic expression. The programme was conducted across three batches during December 2025 and January 2026, engaging a total of 42 children.
The workshop provided children with opportunities to explore and experiment through a combination of technology-based and hands-on creative activities. Sessions included Virtual Reality (VR), 3D pen designing, sculpting, painting, laser cutting, basic electronics and creative prototyping. Through these activities, participants were encouraged to move beyond conventional classroom learning and develop their creativity, problem-solving abilities, curiosity and confidence in making and experimenting.
The programme emphasised learning by doing, allowing children to transform their ideas into tangible creations while gaining early exposure to emerging technologies and design processes. The collaboration also provided a platform for DIC to promote innovation and design thinking among young learners and encourage them to view technology as a tool for creativity and problem-solving.
