 A two week  Refresher Course for College and University Teachers was organised by the UGC - Human Resource Development Centre, NEHU, Shillong in collaboration with Department of Chemistry, NEHU, Shillong. The inaugural function held on 21st October  was presided over by Prof S R Rao,Director I/C, UGC- HRDC,NEHU,Shillong.

          Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla honourable Vice Chancellor ,NEHU while speaking as the Chief Guest of the occasion lauded the effort of  UGC- HRDC,NEHU & the Department of Chemistry,NEHU,Shillong in organising the programme which will help to enhance the skills,knowledge and efficiency of the teachers and to keep them abreast with the latest development in the field of Chemistry. He was impressed to see the partcipants apart from Meghalaya and other North Eastern States, those who are from as far as Chattisgarh,Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Bihar and WestBengal are also attending the Refresher course in North Eastern Hill University.

Others who spoke on the occasion are Prof. K Mohan Rao, Dean, School of Physical Sciences,NEHU,who appreciated the effort of  HRDC and suggested the extention  of duration  of  the training period of  Refresher Courses for effective learning. Prof. T. S  Basu Baul, HOD,Department Of Chemistry,NEHU elaborate about the strength of the Chemistry Department,NEHU.

The Refresher Course saw the attendance of 25 numbers of participants from Meghalaya, Manipur,Tripura, Assam and other states of India including Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Chattisgarh , Bihar and West Bengal.
