NEHU Vice-Chancellor meets President of India

Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, the Vice-Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong met Her Excellency, The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who is also the Visitor of the University on 7th Sept 2022 at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Vice-Chancellor in his meeting with the President congratulated her on being elected as the President of the country on behalf of the staff, students, teachers and the entire University fraternity.

On being asked about the status of the University by the President, the Vice-Chancellor updated Her Excellency about various works carried out in the last one year. The Vice-Chancellor brought to the kind knowledge of Her Excellency about the various MoUs signed with different universities, research institutes and industries both nationally and internationally. He also updated Her Excellency about the various centres and offices opened in the Universities in the last one year like Office of the International Affairs, MOOCs Centre, Design Innovation Centre, Office of Intellectual Property Rights and recently opened Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Excellence which provides free coaching to UPSC aspirants belonging to SC category. The President congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on all the work done in the University. At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor invited the President to visit NEHU to lay the foundation and inaugurate the NEICOD building which houses all the newly established centres and offices.
