The Department of Sociology, NEHU commemorated the 2^nd Death Anniversary of (L) Prof. A.K.Nongkynrih on the 20^th of February, 2023 by conducting a cleaning drive and tree plantation in the Law Adong (Protected Forest) which was an initiative undertaken by (L) Prof. Nongkynrih in the year 2004. There was also a memorial lecture delivered by Prof. B. Karlsson, Professor of Social and Anthropology, Stockholm University on Food Sovereignty. All students, Research Scholars and Faculty collectively participated in the programme.
