Screenwriting Workshop was organized by the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, North-Eastern Hill University, with the support of Meghalaya Filmmakers Association, organised a Screenwriting Workshop from 15^th-17^th March 2023 as part of the 1^st Meghalaya International Film Festival. The workshop was conducted at the U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Kamaljit Chirom, Assistant Professor, Department of JMC, and the resource person was Mr. Borun Thokchom, a National-Award winning Filmmaker from Manipur. The participants also had interaction with Ms. Sonam Yangday, writer and actress from Bhutan. Forty-seven participants registered for the workshop during which they were trained on the art of writing script for both fiction and non-fiction films. At the end of the workshop the participants came up with five different scripts for films. On the 17^th of March, the participants were given their participation certificates at the closing session by Ms. Nga Thu Huyen, film producer, director and actress from Vietnam.
