The Sports Department of the North-Eastern Hill University is organizing the NEHU Inter College Basketball (Men & Women) Tournament from 19th to 23rd September 2023. All together 33 colleges took part in the tournament in both men & women section comprising of more than 480 participants including Teacher In-charge, Coaches & Manager.
The Tournament was begun with an opening ceremony on the 19th September 2023 at the NEHU Permanent Campus, Shillong where Prof. L. Kma, Director In-charge of Sports graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri. N. Das, Asst. Director (PE & Sports), NEHU and Convener of the tournament Mrs. A. R. Synnah, Basketball Coach was also present during the ceremony.
The final matches of the tournament were played on the 23rd September 2023. In women section St. Anthony’s College defeated Shillong College by 38-11 where as in men section Shillong College defeated St. Anthony’s College by 88-83.
The tournament ended with a closing ceremony where Dr. C. Mukhim, In-charge & Chief Medical Office, Health Centre, NEHU graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Prof. L. Kma, Director In-charge, Sports, NEHU , Shri N. Das, Asst. Director (PE & Sports), NEHU and Mrs. A. R. Synnah, Convener of the tournament were present among others.
