NEHU organises Run For Unity on 31st October, 2018

North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) organized  the event of RUN FOR UNITY on 31st October, 2018 to mark the day as RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS (National Unity Day) commemorating the 143rd Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the iron-man and the first Home Minister of Independent India. 

The Vice Chancellor flagged off the RUN at 7.50 a.m. The RUN followed the route from the Gate No. 5 of the NEHU Campus to the Administrative Block via the adjacent village, Mawkynron, outside the NEHU Campus and covering nearly 3-4 km length of the run for different categories. 

A large number of students and employees participated in the event including the Vice Chancellor. At the finish point of the RUN, the speech of Sardar Patel given by 12th February, 1949 was played for the benefit of the people present. Pledge for integrity, unity and security of India was also made by the participants and organizers. The programme ended by 9.00 am with a brief speech by the Vice Chancellor followed by the prize distribution to the winners.
