Call for Paper for Vol. XXIV (Nos. 1 & 2, 2026)

The Editorial Board of The NEHU Journal invites original, unpublished research articles and book reviews for its upcoming volume. Indexed in the Guide to Indian Periodical Literature, The NEHU Journal is an internationally refereed, multidisciplinary publication dedicated to fostering critical thinking, comparative research, and academic excellence across a wide spectrum of disciplines.

Aims and Scope

The journal welcomes high-quality submissions related to all disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Science and Technology
  • Agricultural Science and Forestry
  • Commerce, Economics and Management
  • Social Sciences
  • Language and Humanities
  • Politics and International Relations
  • Traditional and Indian Knowledge Systems
  • Library & Information Sciences

Special Focus: The journal places a special emphasis on publishing research pertaining to India's North-East (its history, heritage, cultures, science, and myriad socio-political and economic realities) as well as Southeast Asian countries.

Submission Categories (article types &word counts)

  1. Original Research Article:upto 7,000 words
  2. Review Article:upto 7,000 words
  3. Book Review:up to 1,500 words

Guidelines for Authors

To facilitate a smooth double-blind peer review process, authors are requested to adhere strictly to the following formatting guidelines:

  • Format: Submissions must be typed in MS Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, 12-point font size, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Title Page: The first page should include the Title (14-point), Author(s) name, designation, affiliation, and contact details (12-point, italics). To ensure anonymity during the review, the author's details should not appear on any other page.
  • Abstract: An abstract of 150 - 300 words clearly depicting the theme, objective, methodology, key findings, and policy implications, followed by 5- 7 keywords.
  • Language & Style: British English spelling should be used. Non-English words should be italicized.
  • References: Follow the journal's specific in-text citation style using parentheses (e.g., Sharma 1956: 282). All cited works must be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. Avoid footnotes as much as possible; if necessary, use endnotes.
  • Visuals: Line drawings, graphs, and photographs should be in TIF/JPEG format at 600dpi and listed in a separate file. Tables should also be provided in a separate MS Word file, numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals.

Note: All submissions must be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to abide by the COPE-modeled ethics policy regarding plagiarism and publication practices.
