Its primary role is to safeguard the rights, safety, and well-being of all human participants involved in research conducted at the university. The Committee is responsible for:

  • Conducting objective and competent ethical review of research proposals.
  • Ensuring scientific soundness (through Scientific Review Committee).
  • Protecting participants through principles such as informed consent, voluntariness, non-exploitation, privacy, risk minimization, and justice.
  • Providing guidance to researchers on ethical best practices.

All departments at NEHU conducting human-related research must obtain approval from this Committee.
