The sixth “P. A. Sangma Memorial Lecture” was organised by North Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus on 1st September, 2022 in the Conference Hall, Academic Block-II, NEHU, Tura Campus before a packed audience of luminaries, educators, social workers, scientists and young minds. Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, North- Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya while welcoming all the guests of NEHU, Tura Campus, spoke extensively about the life, works and vision of Late P. A Sangma. Prof. P. S. Shukla highlighted that Late P. A. Sangma devoted his life for the people of North- East India. Prof. Prafulla Kumar Mishra, Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur, Bihar, India, while delivering the 6th P. A. Sangma Memorial Lecture on the topic “The Science of Living”, focused on the present-day challenges and hazards of consumerism and capitalistic impulses that thwart the multifaceted growth of an individual. To overcome these challenges and hazards, Prof. Mishra recommended personality development through good habits and regularity, values and a balanced style of living infused with self-respect, grace and good health. It is important to know oneself, live within, and change one's mindless obsession for material objects. He highlighted that value-added life and higher living are not based on material perspective but introspection and self actualisation. He stressed that one should discover oneself, and develop confidence and abilities to live harmoniously with nature. He also highlighted the significance of community living and highlighted that it will help one to become a self-made man, a successful icon not only for himself but also for the society, the country, and the world. Towards the end, Prof. Sujata Gurudev, Campus-in-Charge, NEHU, Tura Campus, Meghalaya, proposed the vote of thanks. She puts on record the contributions of the entire organizing team led by its Chairperson, Prof. F. K. Marak, Department of Garo, NEHU, Tura Campus and Coordinator, Dr. Deepak Bhagat, Associate Professor, Department of Management, NEHU, Tura Campus.
