MSME residential training held at North-Eastern Hill University

National Institute for MSME (ni-msme), Hyderabad is conducting a one week training programme on "MSME Innovative Scheme" for 28 MSME officers from various states of the country at NEHU campus, Shillong from 10th to 14th October, 2022.

Recently a new “MSME Innovative Scheme” was introduced by Ministry of MSME to strengthen MSME’s ecosystem by developing innovative solutions and applications which will help them to move up the value chain. The primary objective is to promote and support untapped creativity and help in adopting the latest technologies and methods in the MSME sector. The scheme is combination of Incubation, Design intervention and IPR protection initiatives to enhance MSME competitiveness and transform them as National and International Champions.

The Inaugural programme was held on 10th October, 2022 in the Seminar room, Biomedical Engineering Department, NEHU, Shillong. The Chief Guest for the programme was Shri. G.H.P. Raju, IPS, Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya and Prof. P.S. Shukla, Vice Chancellor, NEHU and the Chairperson of the event.

The Introductory remarks were given by Mr. Sarath Muthyala, Associate Faculty Member from ni-msme who emphasised on the organizing the said training programme and how it would have long term benefits.

Mr. Satish Kumar, from MSME, Delhi stressed and highlighted on the different aspects of the MSME innovative scheme which could play significant role in improving the economic growth of the country. 

Mr. G.H.P. Raju stressed on innovation in routine official work and how to understand and connect with the needs of the society to support them for the improvement in the overall economic situation and growth of the country.

Prof. P.S. Shukla stressed on the need for having close interactions between the Ministry, industry and the academic institutions for improving the innovation and incubation system in the country and promoting the young entrepreneurs.

Dr. Dinesh Bhatia, Coordinator at NEHU, Shillong in his closing remarks stressed on requirement for arranging such training programs and how government of Meghalaya is promoting innovation through the PrimeHub Meghalaya. He specially thanked the MSME officials and Chief Minister and other government officials for organizing the said training programme at the NEHU University campus.
