Dalmia Cement Ltd. picks students from NEHU during recruitment

Dalmia Cement, one of the best cement brands in India conducted a campus recruitment and apprenticeship drive at North-Eastern Hill University campus, Shillong on 27^th December, 2022. In a day long interview, top officials from Dalmia Bharat Limited viz. Mr. Dinesh Kr. Bhardwaj, Plant Head HR (GM), Mr. Vinod Kr. Singh, Technical Head (GM), Mr. Anil Kumar, Quality Head (DGM) and Mr. Shyam Kalita, Talent Acquisition Lead Regional office, Guwahati were present.

The drive started with formal welcoming of the officials of the Dalmia Bharat limited and brief about the placement drive by Prof. Md. Iftekhar Hussain, Dean, School of Technology. Mr. Dinesh Kr. Bhardwaj, Plant Head HR (GM) gave a presentation about the company and explained about job profile. The company selected seven candidates after rigorous process of interview.The selected students were from varied range of courses like Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Chemistry. Another 15 students have been shortlisted from the final year batch. The students turned up in large number in spite of the ongoing winter vacation and festive season.

The campus recruitment and apprenticeship drive are the initiatives started by the Vice Chancellor of NEHU. In an effort to revive the old glory of NEHU and take the university tto higher echelons, Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice Chancellor of the University played a key role in arranging the recruitment drive. He thanked the Meghalaya Cement Association headed by Mr. Er. R. K. Pareek, President, Meghalaya Cements Limited for cooperating with NEHU and recruiting the NEHU graduates. Prof. Shukla stated that NEHU is working in tandem with the guidelines of New Education Policy 2020 to encourage skill development and apprenticeship. He also mentioned that NEHU is in advance stage in signing the MoUs with the cement industries of Meghalaya to encourage research, skill development, internships and apprenticeship. On the other hand, Dalmia cement assured the NEHU authorities to conduct another recruitment drive the next batch in the mid of 2023.
