The Sports Department of the North-Eastern Hill University organized the NEHU Inter College Football (Men) Tournament from the 21st August to the 31st August 2023 at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Football Ground, NEHU Permanent Campus, Shillong. All together 32 affiliated colleges to University including NEHU UG & PG students of Shillong Campus and Tura Campus including teams’ officials; more than 700 participants took part in the tournament.
The final match of the tournament was played between Shillong College and St. Anthony’s College, where Shillong College won the match by 3-1.
The Tournament ended with a presentation ceremony, where the Registrar of the North-Eastern Hill University Prof. S. R. Joshi graced the occasion as Chief Guest and MLA of the Mawlai Constituency Shri Brightstarwell Marbaniang as Guest of Honour. Both the Chief Guest & Guest of Honour gave away the prizes to the winners. Prof. L. Kma, Director In-charge, Sports Department, NEHU, Prof. K. Debberma, Department of Pol. Science, NEHU, Dr. (Mrs) C. Mukhim, Chief Medical Officer cum In Charge, Health Center, NEHU and Shri Raj Mallick, Deputy Registrar (Exam), NEHU and Shri N. Das, Asst. Director (PE & Sports) cum Organising Secretary of the tournament were present among others.
