4th Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026 School of Technology

The School of Technology (SoT), in collaboration with the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), successfully inaugurated the 4th Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026. The programme is being conducted in accordance with AICTE guidelines and aligned with the vision of NEP 2020.

The two-week programme, from August 20 to September 7, 2026, welcomes newly admitted students of B.Tech., B.Arch., and M.Tech. programmes from various departments of the School of Technology, including Electronics and Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Information Technology, Architecture, and Nanotechnology.

The programme features AICTE-prescribed activities including Universal Human Values, physical activities, creative arts, literary and proficiency activities, entrepreneurship, expert lectures, local visits, language familiarization, and departmental innovations, aimed at promoting the holistic development of students. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. K. Barik, Prof. Kitlangki Suchiang, Dean of Students’ Welfare, and Prof. Debdatta Kandar, Dean, School of Technology.

In welcome address, Dr. Shruti Shukla, University Coordinator, UHV Cell, emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, and active participation in helping students adjust to university life. Prof. Debdatta Kandar encouraged students to build strong relationships with peers and faculty and assured them of mentorship and support. Prof. Kitlangki Suchiang welcomed students to their new university family and stressed the importance of a safe and ragging-free campus.

In his keynote address, Prof. S. K. Barik emphasized the importance of holistic personality development and learning beyond the classroom through workshops, interactive activities, and experiential learning. He appreciated the efforts of the SoT and UHV Cell and suggested expanding the programme on a larger scale in future.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Samrat Paul, Co-Coordinator, UHV Cell, who expressed gratitude to the university leadership, faculty members, UHV Cell, resource persons, and students for their support.
