Brief Resume 

Jyoti Jajodia Mozika is Professor & Head, Department of Law, NEHU, Shillong. She completed her Five Year Integrated B.A.LL.B Degree, LL.M and Ph.D from University of North Bengal. She was awarded the University Gold Medal both at the B.A.LL.B Programme and LL.M Programme. In addition, she was awarded the Bibhuti Bhushan Ghosh Memorial Medal for securing First Class First Position in the LL.B. Examinations, 1995 of the North Bengal University and the Siliguri Taxation Bar Association Medal for securing highest marks in Taxation Paper in the LL.B Examinations, 1995. She was the first candidate to be awarded Ph.D in Law from the University of North Bengal.
She started her career in teaching in December, 1998 in the Department of Law, University of North Bengal from where she joined Shillong Law College, Shillong in August, 2000. She joined NEHU on 2nd May, 2005.

Prof. Mozika’s main areas of interest are Constitutional & Administrative Law and Jurisprudence & Judicial Process. She has published one book titled “Law and Protection of Right to Privacy” and 16 articles in various journals and edited books. She has participated and presented papers in more than 20 national and international seminars and conferences. She has also delivered lectures on various legal topics as resource person in various refresher and orientation programmes.

Prof. Mozika has been associated with editing of research journals and is currently editor of the Department’s in-house legal journal, NEHU Law Journal. She is also Associate Editor of the Indian Human Rights Law Review and member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Jurisprudence and Philosophy of Law.

Prof. Mozika is associated with a number of academic bodies and institutions. She has been a Member of the Indian Law Institute since 2003 and Visiting Faculty at the Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Dagapur, Matigara. She is life member of NEIHA and NEIES and currently executive member of NEIES. She has remained a member of the Women’s Cell in NEHU from 2005-2015.
