North Eastern Hill University under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorated the International Women’s day with a Women’s fair cum Food Court and A panel Discussion held on the 9th of March 2023 at Multi-Use Convention Hall .The Women’s Fair comprised sale of food items like organic vegetables and local cuisines by women vendors from Khweng village ,Ri-Bhoi and also sale of handicrafts by WISE,St. Mary’s convent ,and many other stalls .The Vice Chancellor ,NEHU Prof. P.S Shukla grace the occasion as the Chief Guest at the Panel discussion and Prof. Desmond Kharmawphlang gave the welcome address.The panellists were Dr. Bhogtoram Mawroh,NESFAS,Dr. Pynsuklin Syiemiong ,Sankardev College ,Miss Careen Joplin Langstieh,Artist,Miss Iba Mallai Fashion designer and Miss Neena Rabha ,DSP,CID .The theme of the panel discussion was “Daughters of the soil” and the moderator was Prof. Rekha M Shangpliang.
