A GATE and JAM awareness session was conducted by the School of Technology, NEHU on the 3rd October, 2024 from 3:00 PM onwards wherein students from different branches of technology, science, humanities attended the programme. The session was conducted by Prof. Manabendra Sarma from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. Head of Departments and faculty members from different departments of the University also attended the said programme.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dinesh Bhatia coordinator of the programme apprised the participants regarding the objectives of organizing the said programme and why it would beneficial for the students of the University to understand the broader guidelines and details while applying for these entrance examinations for seeking admissions to the institutes of higher learning across the country and abroad.
In his welcome address Prof. Iftekhar Hussain, Dean, School of Technology profusely thanked Prof. Sarma for his kind presence and request to deliver the seminar in NEHU. Prof. Hussain apprised the students the importance of the said examination and how it would be beneficial for achieving their future career goals and learning from some of the best higher educational institutions across the country and seeking employment opportunities based on these examinations.
Post this a detailed presentation was carried out by Prof. M. Sarma who outlined the eligibility criteria, course requirements, selection of different options while filling up the examination form online. On completion of his presentation there was a detailed question and answer session wherein students and faculty members clarified their doubts and queries with regards to the above competitive examinations.
The vote of thanks was given by the Coordinator to all present and the University for allowing arrangement of such events in the campus.
