Resume Summary

Dr. Sirsendu Sekhar Ray undergraduates as Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Dr. Sampurnanand medical college, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He earned his Master's degree in medical science and technology from IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal, where he studied the effect of audio binaural stimulation on the autonomic nervous system. Meanwhile, he worked as a Post-doctoral trainee with Prof. Zvia Breznitinz, laboratory of neurocognitive research, Haifa University, Israel, on the accelerated reading paradigm for dyslexic children. He also visited National Institute of Physiological Science, Okazaki, Japan to learn brain-machine interface technology. Upon completing his masters, he joined NIT Rourkela as an Assistant Professor. At NIT Rourkela, he completed his PhD under the guidance of Prof. Sunil Kumar Sarangi and Prof. Krishna Pramanik on the cryopreservation of adipose tissue and adipose tissue derived stem cells, where he developed cryoprotectant solutions for stem cell therapy. In the last few years, his research interest mainly revolves around nanotechnology, biomolecular electronics and healthcare engineering. He has number of patents and publications in reputed journals on these topics. His notable contribution is development of biomolecular glass with in-situ formed nanodiamonds from DNA, RNA, ATP and egg yolks. He has also developed green synthesis processes for the mass scale production of nanodiamonds at low pressure and temperature. He also proposed the consciousness driven experimental evolution in living systems and probable presence of wired and wireless communication among the biomolecules. Moreover, he enjoys teaching, discussing ideas, and engaging in entrepreneurial endeavors.
